Step 1
Site Preparation
Measure and mark out the area
where the foundation slab will be built.
Step 2
Prepare the Footings
Dig a trench for the
foundation footings. The depth will depend on
the type of structure the foundation is for.
Use the wooden stakes to set a level for the footings.
Step 3
Laying the Footings for Retaining Wall
Using the instructions on the bag mix the Blue Circle
Multi-Purpose Concrete and pour the mixed
concrete into the footings trench.
Step 4
Compacting and Leveling
Ensure the footings
are well compacted. Level the surface with a
straight edge. Cover and allow to cure for 7 days.
Step 5
Building the Retaining Wall
Mix Blue Circle Mortar according to the instructions on the bag.
Build up the retaining wall to the required level and
allow to cure before laying the foundation slab.
Step 6
Laying the Foundation Slab
Mix bags of Blue Circle High Strength Concrete 40N as required
for the area of the foundation slab and pour
within the retaining wall.
Level and smooth the slab surface with a trowel and straight edge.
Clean your tools promptly after finishing to prevent any material from hardening on them.
Step 7
Curing
Cover the new concrete to protect
from rain and frost and allow to cure fully before
placing or building anything on the slab.
